GIFTING & SELF-CARE BY YAYA TOURAY

As part of our Conscious Gifting Month, we asked Yaya Touray, model, content creator and founder of communication & talent agency 0360works, how he takes care of himself and others during the holiday season:

What is important for you when it comes to gifting during the holiday season?  

It’s definitely not important to me whether a gift was expensive or not. It’s rather what it represents; Does it have personality or is it a nice gesture of attention. And of course I’m a big fan of transparency, knowing where the gift is from or what steps it went through.

How do you celebrate yourself on Christmas? Do you have any self-care rituals?

Of course I have self-care rituals on Christmas. I’ll treat myself with really good food and, most importantly, being around my loved ones since I don’t get to see them very often. 

Are there any social initiatives that you take part in?

My family and me fill containers with goods and ship them to our home-country in Africa and I donate lots of clothes on a regular basis.
