GIFTING & SELF-CARE WITH YAYA TOURAY

As part of our Conscious Gifting month, we asked model, content creator and talent from communication & talent agency 0360works, Yaya Touray, how he takes care of himself and others during the Christmas season:

What is important to you when giving gifts at Christmas? 

The material and monetary value of a gift is not important to me. What it represents, does it have a deeper meaning, is it a nice gesture of attention, is what counts. And of course I'm a big fan of transparency, when you know where the gift comes from or what journey it has been on.

How do you celebrate yourself at Christmas? Do you have self-care rituals?

Of course I have self-care rituals; at Christmas I treat myself to really good food and above all I spend a lot of time with my loved ones as I don't see them often otherwise. 

Are there any social initiatives that you are involved in? 

My family and I fill containers with goods and send them to our home in Africa and I regularly donate lots of clothes.
