WHAT IS THE RIGHT JUICE CURE FOR ME?
Which is the right juice cleanse for you? Can a juice diet address specific needs of your body? Over what period of time should you take a juice cleanse?
In the following post, we want to help you find the best possible juice diet for your needs. For the best results and a healthier you.
We explain
How do I find the right juice cure?
Whether you are looking for a complete change in diet or lifestyle, simply want to feel good in your body again after going overboard on holidays or at the weekend, or want to give your body and mind a short break from everyday stress - a juice cleanse is the right choice for you in any case.
But which juice diet is right for you? Can a juice cleanse address your body's specific needs? And for how long should you take a juice cleanse?
How long should I take a juice diet?
If you want to give your body and mind a short but effective break (e.g. over the weekend) or if you are a newbie and want to slowly get to grips with juice fasting, start with a 3-day juice fast. This period is sufficient to fully adjust mentally to the fast. Eating only juices instead of solid food for 3 days is an effective reset for body and mind. At the same time, it represents the first step towards a holistic lifestyle and initiates the first steps towards "autophagy".
For those with advanced fasting experience or those who want to maximize the positive effects of fasting such as autophagy and increased energy, a 5-day juice diet is recommended.
A 7-day juice cure should really be reserved for people who are experienced in fasting and who have already established a good connection to their body and its special needs during fasting.
Is a colorful or green juice diet better for me?
A colorful juice diet, such as DALUMA's Classic Juice Diet, consists of roughly equal parts fruit and vegetables and offers your body the best combination of high-quality micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) from both sources. The sweetness of the fruit is based on its fructose content (the amount of fructose it contains). It is not surprising that "colorful" juices containing fruit have a higher sugar and therefore calorie content than "green" juices, which are made from vegetables, which are lower in fructose.
For beginners, it is recommended to start with a colorful juice diet. The sweetness of the juices, a stronger feeling of fullness and the higher energy content make juice fasting easier at first and support you mentally during your first juice fasting experience.
After you have gained your first fasting experience, a "green juice diet" is also suitable for more intensive fasting. In terms of taste, the vegetable juice diet differs from a "colorful" juice diet and has different nutritional values or provides less energy. On the other hand, a "green" juice cleanse can support an alkaline environment in your body and balance acidity caused by factors such as coffee, sugar, meat and dairy consumption. This can have a positive effect on your mental energy levels and general health status. In addition, with a "green" juice diet, a continuously low insulin level is achieved more quickly and the state of autophagy, also known as the body's own cell cleansing, sets in more quickly.
What are the benefits of an alkaline juice cure?
An alkaline juice cure is recommended for all those who suffer from hyperacidity. This can often be associated with unspecific but stressful symptoms such as fatigue, headaches and susceptibility to infections¹,²,³.
You can easily find out whether you suffer from hyperacidity by taking a urine test or a blood test to determine your blood pH. With the alkaline juice cure, you specifically replace acidic food ingredients with alkaline ones. This triggers your body's pH value to move into the alkaline range.
During the alkaline juice cure you avoid acidic foods (e.g. meat, dairy products) and initiate an increased intake of the minerals calcium, magnesium and potassium. These are increasingly contained in special fruits (such as citrus fruits, pomegranate, apple) and vegetables (e.g. spinach, kale, celery, cucumber), which are the main components of the alkaline juice cure.
But why alkaline at all? According to nutritionists, an alkaline diet promotes anti-inflammatory processes in the body, strengthens the immune system and increases the absorption of vitamins. It is also said to have a positive effect on blood pressure and weight problems⁴.
What characterizes the probiotic juice cure?
Support your microbiome
The human gastrointestinal tract is a particularly complex ecosystem, with a total of more than one trillion microorganisms from over 1000 different species. These colonize your entire digestive tract, with over 99% of all microorganisms being found in the large intestine.
The "Gut-Brain-Skin Axis" as a factor in your holistic health
Your microbiome is highly complex and highly individual and is largely responsible for your health. As has now been scientifically proven, the gut, psyche and skin are linked via the so-called "Gut-Brain-Skin Axis". Lack of concentration, listlessness, tiredness and skin problems can often be the result of a poor diet.
Pesticides, preservatives and antibiotics in animal husbandry, which you ingest through your food, damage the colonization of "good bacteria" in your body and thus your intestinal health. It is therefore essential for the success of a juice diet that it is composed purely of organic ingredients.
A high amount of refined sugar, grains and chemical sweeteners also promote the colonization of "bad germs" and upset the balance of your microbiome.
The probiotic juice cure to reset your microbiome
The probiotic juice cure gives your gut a break from solid food and allows the microbiome to recover from daily irritants and toxins. The specific composition of the cure from active Kombucha cultures together with high-fiber juices also supports the microbiome in its function and thus the regeneration process of your intestinal barrier and the intestinal immune system.
The aim of the cure is long-term intestinal health, which has a positive effect on your whole body. (You can find everything you need to know about gut health here).
